We want to make wines with a very clear style, maintaining freshness as the backbone and avoiding over-ripeness and over-extraction. We seek elegance and subtlety, but without giving up the complexity and roundness of the wines. No doubt, the grape plays, in this sense, a main role.

Volem fer vins amb un estil molt clar, mantenint la frescor com a columna vertebral i fugint de la sobremaduresa i la sobre-extracció. Busquem l’elegància i la subtilesa, però sense renunciar a la complexitat i a l’arrodoniment dels vins. Sense cap mena de dubte el raïm juga, en aquest sentit, un paper principal.

Ekam and Ekam Essència: the influence of the Rhine

 

Ekam (divine unity in Sanskrit), a dry Riesling (trocken) from the Pyrenees that combines perfectly with the touch of Albariño that gives it a distinct personality. A direct and crisp wine that deserves a few bottles kept in the cellar to enjoy its evolution.

Ekam’s essence (Essència) a riesling kabinett spätlese, with about 30 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and very gastronomic, for precise or contrasting pairings.

Taleia, Taleia Brisat: our Sauvignons Blancs family

 

Taleia (obsession in Catalan), a very delicate Sauvignon blanc with refreshing acidity. The aromas of wet stone accentuate its mineral sensation and the saline notes on the palate stand out. A complex wine with a broad texture but great subtlety that can mature in the bottle.

Taleia Brisat: an orange wine, sauvignon blanc single-varietal fermented entirely in stone vats. Sulfite-free wine with a long aging process.

Majjan, Jhana and Taïka: special and unique.

 

Majjan (bone marrow or plant sap in Sanskrit), a sweet wine made with semillon and sauvignon blanc, where the magic of Botrytis (noble rot), a fantastic acidity and 200 grams of residual sugar come together to present a wine with exuberant yet delicate aromas. A dessert wine that can be drunk neat.

Jhana (meditation linked to silence and reflection in Sanskrit), a rosé made with merlot and petit verdot varieties, born to dignify the style. A wine for aging, very gastronomic, with good volume and a long finish reminiscent of great white wines. An ideal wine for the curious.

Taïka (magic in Finnish), precision ancestral sparkling wine, with no added sugar in the second fermentation, from sauvignon blanc and semillon in equal parts. An elegant, delicate, complex and deep wine, a rara avis ideal for both lovers of bubbles and newcomers.

Acusp (broken in Latin and old name of the mountain range where the vineyards are located), a very fine pinot noir with great elegance and delicacy, fresh fruit and a floral touch on a spicy background. A highly pleasing wine with the nerve and tension desired in the variety.

Thalarn (medieval form of the town where Castell d’Encus is located), cool climate syrah. A silky, fresh, balanced wine, where the spices and flowers shine, together with a touch undergrowth.

Quest (question, research in Latin), elegant and complex blend of Bordeaux varieties, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot, fermented in 12th century stone vats with wild yeasts from Castell d’Encus. A wine of balance between maturity and freshness.
