Un poblat en ru\u00efnes de monjos de l’ordre dels Hospitalers de Sant Joan juntament amb una ermita, els dos del per\u00edode tardorom\u00e0nic (segle XII) romanen a la finca i expliquen part del nostre passat.<\/p>\n
Un conjunt de 9 cups de fermentaci\u00f3 excavats a la pedra pels monjos, amb capacitat de 2 a 7 tones i orientats a la fermentaci\u00f3 del vi, mostren que des de temps immemorials la serra de la Costa Ampla ha sigut un lloc idoni per la producci\u00f3 de vi, que nom\u00e9s la fil\u00b7loxera i el despoblament rural progressiu van aturar.<\/p>\n
Un terroir que s’ha demostrat cient\u00edficament molt positiu per al conreu de la vinya, amb un clima \u00f2ptim que confereix una alta acidesa al vi i que es tradueix en un vi m\u00e9s protegit i amb un alt potencial de guarda. Els monjos hospitalers ja ho intu\u00efren de manera emp\u00edrica.<\/p>\n

His vast experience and technical knowledge led him to undertake a tireless search in the Pyrenees to find the ideal place to plant vines that would permit him to obtain the wines he longed for, which today are so recognisable under his name.<\/p>\n Castell d’Encus began in 2001, when the landscape and the history of the region had a strong personal impact on Ra\u00fcl Bobet. The main estate is located between 800 and 950 metres above sea level, surrounded by woodland and the historical remains of the ancient medieval village of Castell d\u2019Encus. It was not until the 12th century that it became more important thanks to the transfer of the territories to the monks of the Hospitallers of St. John. This order owned Castill\u00f3 d\u2019Enc\u00fas for seven centuries. After the abolition of the manorial regimes (1837) and the disentailment of Madoz (1855), the domains passed to the municipality of Talarn. The village was finally abandoned during the 20th century.<\/p>\n The period under the religious rule of Castill\u00f3 d\u2019Enc\u00fas is of special relevance to us. The monks of the Order of Saint John were the first to see the potential of these lands and became the first winegrowers in Conca de Tremp. For this purpose, they dug a set of nine wine vats by hand in the limestone rocks near Castill\u00f3 d’Enc\u00fas, where they fermented the wine.<\/p>\n Honesty and esteem for our land and culture drive us to recover the history of Castill\u00f3 d\u2019Enc\u00fas and to preserve its historical value. We still have nine stone winepresses dug out of the rock by hand in the 12th century. Of these, six are used to ferment some of our wines, doing what we like best: harmonising history with technology and knowledge.
